Meet the team
Willie Lee
Co-Founder, Managing Director
Willie is the founder and Managing Director of Big 3 Media. Every time Willie calls one of his guys out for a coffee and a walk, you know things are about to get very real very fast. Usually in a good way. He knows something about everything and can hold a conversation like nobody’s business. Or that’s how his employees feel. In his time in the industry, he has produced and directed films for major clients such as the Singapore International Airlines, Nike, Public Service Division, The SEA Games, and many more. Willie leads the company’s business operations. Based out of Singapore, he has always wanted to expand Big 3 into the other countries across Asia. Not necessarily because it’s good for business, but because he believes that every Big 3 member should have a place to sleep wherever they travel. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his family and playing basketball.
Arjun Chatterjee
Lead Director
Arjun Chatterjee is a writer, director, and animator with a masters degree from Tisch School of the Arts. He has been directing live-action and animation for the past decade.
He currently serves as the lead director and head of operations at Big 3 India. Most recently, Arjun co-wrote and directed the Original Series ‘Bhak’ which won the Grand Jury Prize for ‘Best TV Pilot’ at the Academy Award qualifier Rhode Island International Film Festival 2018 and is currently live on HOOQ and Disney+ Hotstar.
Arjun specializes in writing and directing comedy. He draws a lot from real life and tries to create characters and worlds that are relatable, real, and ridiculous all at once. His comedic influences both as a writer and director include the dry humour of Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais, as well as some of the more ridiculous comedy of the likes of Terry Gilliam or John Cleese.
He is currently working on a new series as well as his feature film. Arjun takes his days off(though far and few) very seriously and loves playing with his cats Sushi and Bamboo. He enjoys good beer and whiskey, can mildly play the guitar, mildly sing, and will be mildly patient with you.
Joelle Fernandes
Senior Producer
Joelle began her career with documentary films, including the national award winning‘The Unreserved’ among others. Her foray into production for short fiction films started with the Vir Das and Saba Azad starrer – ‘Connected’.
After a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from Sophia College For Women, Bombay, and post graduation in filmmaking from Xaviers’ Institute of Communications, she dove into production and never looked back.
She rose quickly through the industry, becoming the editor/executive producer for the documentary Zen and the Art of Bookselling which played at film festivals across the world. She currently serves as the lead producer at Big 3.
Ishika Sharma
Writer and Associate Director
Ishika has a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication specialising in Audio Visual Production.
A writer through and through, she began by writing for two short film projects during her graduation course. As a writer with Big 3 Productions India, she has worked on and landed several scripts for commercials, brand films, corporate, as well as original content.
A trained classical dancer, when not working, she loves to practice her art and read.
Tarun Shetty
Finance Head
With over 9 years of working experience in the finance ecosystem, Tarun is our money man. Need your payment done? Go to him. Bank documents are confusing? Tarun’s your man. Investment advice? Tarun.
He started his career as an articled assistant for ATMS & Co LLP where he was exposed to audit & taxation. He later worked with companies in the lending sector operating in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities of India as a project consultant setting up prudent processes and automating credit, customer onboarding, liquidity management and various other banking operations.
Tarun can be defined by confusing financial lingo and his undying love for Whiskey Sour.
Shouvik Bisai
Cinematographer
Shouvik has been involved in the media industry since 2016 as a cinematographer/photographer. He started his career with shooting aftermovies and stills for bands such as Blackstratblues, Local Train, Yellow Diary, and events like NH7 weekender and Vh1 Supersonic. All while grabbing a degree in mass communication from Symbiosis University.
Never one to settle down and having a strong sense of community and social responsibility, he is currently pursuing his Masters in Social work from Tata Institute of Social Science while parallelly working as a cinematographer in Mumbai.
His first big break was being the DOP of Youtube Originals – Breakfast with Champions (Season 6). He is also experienced in shooting fiction as well as non-fiction content.
Shouvik’s work with commercials, social content, and non-fiction led to a charming, home brew look which caught our attention in 2019. It was a vibe that stood out for us and we didn’t have to think twice to bring Shouvik on board the team.
